About GHD 2011: The Pirate Ball
GHD is in its 7th year with Kate Wilson and her dedicated team.. One of the years premier themed events GHD always lives up tho the mammoth expectations of their staff, every year being bigger and better than the last.
This year’s event was a Pirate Ball, held a the Perth Convention Centre. This year GHD moved down into the pavilion to allow more scope for the production size.. This event was the biggest custom built event that Kate Wilson Events has undertaken, taking all of our resources to design, produce and install. The design brief was 'Fun', 'Impressive' and beyond expectations... We achieved all of these..
In the middle of the ballroom floor we designed, built and installed a gigantic full length pirate Galleon complete with sails, masts, mermaids and of course the jolly roger....
Over 22 meters long the ship was a show stopper.. complete with dance floor on the main deck.. This 'boat' was every little boys dream and every grown-ups fantasy of sailing the high seas... Black pearl eat your heart out..... it was truly inspired.
Guests walked into the ball room under a large pirate map looked on by two large statues bathed in gold...
Inside the galleon rose up in rough seas under mist, thunder and lightning.. To your left was a pirate cove with Skull island covered with its treasure bounty.. On the other side of the ship the pirate bar was open with a band playing sea shanties..
Captain Hook and his sidekick Smee kept the crowd on its toes helped out by his motley bunch of pirates and wenches long into the night.
Hugely successful, awesomely fun and one to be remembered for all who attended.
